PJ takes the art form of the Joomchi technique to a new level by fusing many forms of papers together in this series titled “Be Aware!”.  People from other countries see our lush richness and wealth.  They may be impoverished, persecuted, on the other side looking in.  Their spirit of hope and creativity will never enrich us.  The variety they can offer to our society will not be felt.  The gate to offer them refuge and hope is closed.

Joomchi is a 500-year-old Korean paper-making technique that uses water to fuse several layers of handmade mulberry papers (Hanji) together. PJ Bergin is bringing her unique artistic sensibility to this ancient medium.

Ready for Hanging. A custom metal bracket is included for easy installation.  It gives the artwork the illusion of floating off the wall forming unique shadows and reflections.
