Mulberry Paper (Hanji), Acrylic, Encaustic medium, Baltic Birch
The intention for this artwork is to help the viewer remember and realize the value of friendships found over the years. The theme is part of the “Connection” Series showing value in time spent together. One of the many ways to build on knowing a person is listening to what the person says with understanding and curiosity.
Joomchi is a 500-year-old Korean paper-making technique that uses water to fuse several layers of handmade mulberry papers (Hanji) together. PJ Bergin is bringing her unique artistic sensibility to this ancient medium.
