My New Year has already started!

After a challenging year physically, I am gradually finding my way back into the studio to work on the projects that have been in my head for way too long. It is the opportunity I have been waiting for to experiment with new materials. I will also start using more of the painting skills learned awhile back. I’ll create artwork that will combine the same sculptural qualities that my clients recognize but with new dimensions of color and pattern. This new body of work will have my signature 3-dimensional sculptural theme, but in a whole new way!

While taking a short road trip around the Taos, NM area last week, I came across a sculpture of a young horse that captured how I feel as I venture back into the studio. To me, this sculpture by Siri Hollander is of a very young colt just finding his legs and learning to walk.  That’s how I feel about going back into the studio after being away for so many months. I am exploring new directions and techniques with such a feeling of newness!  With this feeling comes freedom and the joy of experimentation.

You will see this evolve as I settle back into my studio routine and learn how I want to use the new materials I have at hand. I invite you to enjoy this exploration with me and visit the website site often as the new work continues to grow, just like the strength and stride of this new little colt.
